Interlude: Mystery&Court

It was a very stressful time in Station House 4. Detective George Crabtree who replaced Detective Murdoch since he got promoted finally to Inspector after their boss's Brackenreid,  retired,   been trying to deal with the "Case of Carly Swanson.   Crabtree can find nothing useful to the case everything seems to be in a dead end.  Crabtree got called into the office and Murdoch told him that other people were breathing down his neck "No wonder Brackenreid didn't like the higher-ups."  Crabtree replied "I know I have tried but we never found a body, dead or alive, we didn't find any willing witnesses most of the four witnesses not counting John's wife,  aren't talking."  Murdoch said "You can try to find something..maybe you should see if finger prints from the glass match the finger prints of other cases in any of the towns?"   Crabtree picked up one of their fingerprint records and then one similarity from a failed back robbery in the  mid 1800s. When a Darcy Grant tried to rob a bank but accidentally killed his ex-girlfriend instead.

Constable Nelson was on the desk in the early hours of the morning she got a call about that Carly Swanson was at home finally after seven years.  She informed Detective Crabtree about the update and Crabtree informed Murdoch and Murdoch suggested that  Nelson and Camboll should go to the Swansons' to ask Carly to come in so they could hear her story.   When the two constables got their they find Carly in a crouched positioned.  They waited until she calmed down and then asked her to come in when she felt ready.   Carly did so and  meet Crabtree who said "I been working on your case so what happened during the last seven years?"  Carly told him everything about what happened.   Crabtree told Constable Brackenreid to go to the Grants' and arrest Darcy Grant and also take Constable Daar with him.

A week later the case is in the court. Carly was the first person the stand.  Darcy's lawyer  asked questions about her experience in Darcy's house.   She then said everything but also asked this "I want to ask  for the judge to grant House arrest to Mr. Grant.  The children already lost a Nanny the closet thing to a parent they had, but they shouldn't suffer the loss of a parent, even if the parent would be in prison."  Then Zoe Patel was on the stand "she saw someone of Darcy's height  leaving with a woman  in a blue wheelchair the night when Carly disappeared.   When the lawyer said "are you sure that who you saw was Darcy?"  Zoe replied "well no it was dark but he had blue hair including facial hair. and he was wearing a blue stripped shirt".    The next person the stand was Max Villreal  The lawyer mentioned that there been bad blood between Max and Carly and that the two fought just the week prior to Carly's kidnapping.  Max said "Yeah,  my family got kicked out of our family home which is now the home of HER family..so is it any surprise I'm mad?"  So what did you see that night?  "I saw a couple having drinks and having fun with no sign of anything weird about the scenario."  The next person was Princess Sofia Berjsen  "I  thought stuff was conseual between then 16 year old Carly and 20  year old (really older) Darcy Grant in his Herbert persona. But I do remember seeing him put a drug into one of Carly's drinks."   Then Princess Cassandra Goth was on the stand "I think I might have seen Darcy 'Herbert' putting drugs into all of Carly's drinks."

Then Darcy got onto the stand and then Carly's lawyer  asked questions about the bank robbery when Darcy was a teen.  How he ended up with a house in Newcrest and why did he kidnapped Carly.   Darcy was "I thought her family was rich ..so I would be able to ransom her.. turns out they weren't..so I had to save money by having her work as a slave for me and then as a nanny for me children. it's the only thing people like HER are good for. "  Then the judge passed down a sentence of fourteen years in  a prison.
