Dear diary, Everything that Cousin Selene has to today reminds me of Home Children whom were shipped here from Britain from late 1860s to 1932. Not to be confused with the "Guest Children" So that's what my school project is Home Children I mean
HOME CHILDREN
From the late 1860s to 1932 poor families in Britain whom have landed on even harder times. Which would lead to the remaining parent or another adult (grandparent, auncle) leaving children some toddlers but between 7 and 17 they can't take care of at places like churches, Some of these children were orphans but most weren't.
All of the children were shipped off to places like Willow Creek and Osais Springs some parents or guardians didn't even realized their kids have been shipped away without any kind of notice until after the kids had left. Either by the notice of a letter or by showing up at the places they dropped off the kids and found the kid was half-way across the sea.
Once they got across the sea they would take a train from the port to in country. If there were siblings on the train like a brother and sister. They would be told they can't stay together and will be going to two separate houses. It didn't matter if the siblings had promised their formerly guardian back home in Britain That made a lot of children unhappy since their siblings were the only family they still had.
Then the Home Children were taken for the boys a Boys' Home and for the Girls a Girls' Home until a family signed up for them or asked for a child from these homes.
Some of these children had pretty good lives in farming communities and being able to go to school. But some had horrible experiences Some boys joined Borer War and the Two World Wars. Some women became secretaries, teachers and nurses.
